Cookie Policy
This notice applies to the network hub. Sections about listings, accounts, AI, maps, reviews and uploads describe the corresponding features on our linked city services; those features are not all provided directly on this hub.
We keep data collection minimal. This page explains the cookies and local storage technologies used on Local City Network.

1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Local storage is a similar browser technology that lets a site store information on your device without sending it to a server. Both help a site remember settings and load faster on repeat visits.
2. What we use
Local City Network does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use only the following categories:
- Necessary / functional local storage: accessibility preferences and saved places. These are stored in your browser and are not sent to our servers.
- Session / authentication cookies: The owner dashboard uses a secure, HTTP-only sign-in cookie (
__Host-lcn-owner) lasting up to seven days and a one-time passkey challenge cookie (__Host-lcn-challenge) lasting five minutes. Both use SameSite=Strict. Signing out invalidates the current session. - Third-party content: map tiles and embedded videos may load from external providers. Those providers may set their own cookies under their own policies.
3. How long data is kept
Local storage items remain on your device until you clear them through your browser settings. Owner sign-in cookies may persist across browser restarts until their seven-day expiry or sign-out. Passkey challenge cookies expire after five minutes. We do not build advertising profiles or sell data derived from cookies or local storage.
4. Managing your preferences
Because we only use necessary and functional storage, no consent banner is shown. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings, which resets accessibility preferences and saved places for the current Local City Network site. If we ever add analytics or advertising technologies, we will list them here and ask for consent first.
You can also reach us through our contact form for privacy or data questions.
5. Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date above shows the current version.
