Terms of Use

This notice applies to the network hub. Sections about listings, accounts, AI, maps, reviews and uploads describe the corresponding features on our linked city services; those features are not all provided directly on this hub.

These terms form a binding agreement between you and Local City Network. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using Local City Network, at localcitynet.com and its linked city services (the “Site”) you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and our Legal & Disclaimer notices, which are incorporated here by reference. The Site is intended for users 13 years or older. If you are under 18, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. License and acceptable use

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view the Site for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-copy content except as permitted by our robots.txt;
• republish, resell, or create derivative databases from Site content without permission;
• interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site;
• use the Site or the AI assistant for unlawful, harassing, defamatory, infringing, deceptive, or harmful purposes;
• misrepresent your identity or submit false, spam, or malicious content through our forms.

3. AI assistant

The AI assistant on a linked city site is an automated assistant powered by third-party models. Output is generated automatically, is not human-reviewed, may be inaccurate or fabricated, and is provided for general information only. Do not submit sensitive personal, health, financial, or confidential information. You are responsible for independently verifying any output before relying on it, and we disclaim all liability for actions taken based on it.

4. Your submissions

When you send us a message through the contact form or submit any suggestion, correction, or content, you represent that it is accurate, lawful, and yours to send, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use it to operate and improve the Site. Do not send confidential information; we treat unsolicited ideas as non-confidential.

Business accounts and media

Only an owner or authorized representative may manage a business profile. Keep your passkeys and recovery code private. Ownership requests, listing changes and media are subject to review; submitting them does not guarantee publication or a review deadline. You retain ownership of your photos and videos and must have the rights and permissions needed to publish them. You authorize us to store, resize, display and distribute approved uploads to operate and promote the listing. You can remove your media through the owner dashboard. We may reject or remove inaccurate, unlawful, infringing or unsuitable content and revoke access obtained through misrepresentation. Free listing access does not require an advertising purchase.

5. Intellectual property

The Site’s original text, design, layout, graphics, and code are owned by Local City Network and protected by copyright and other laws. Third-party names, logos, and marks belong to their owners and are used descriptively only. Third-party photographs, maps and software retain their existing licenses; see our source credits.

6. Availability and changes

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it - including the AI assistant, maps, and weather features - at any time without notice or liability. We may also revise these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The disclaimers, assumption of risk, limitation of liability (capped at US $100), and indemnification provisions in our Legal & Disclaimer page apply fully to these Terms and are a material part of this agreement.

8. Termination

We may block access to the Site at our discretion, for any reason, without notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination - including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and governing law - will survive.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by California law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and Local City Network agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally through our contact form for at least 30 days. Unresolved disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California. Each party waives any right to participate in a class or representative action to the extent permitted by law.

Sponsorship requests

Sponsorship applications are requests only and create no agreement until we confirm availability and terms in writing. Published sponsorship terms may change, and we may decline or end any sponsorship at our discretion.

Visitor review submissions

Submit only your own experience. Do not post advertising, impersonation, private personal information or reviews of your own business. You permit us to display your submitted review and display name. All ratings are subject to the same moderation criteria; criticism alone is not a reason for rejection. Reviews are visitor opinions, not verified endorsements. They are separate from Google reviews.
